Svadhyaya Weekly on Substack
Svadhyaya (स्वाध्याय) is a Sanskrit word that translates to “the practice of better understanding the true nature of your ultimate Self through the study of ancient Vedic texts.”
It is 1 of the 5 niyamas (नियम) which are the internal lifestyle practices outlined in the 8-limbed path of yoga. A devoted yogi can only go so far in their dharmic path of evolution without the practice of Svadhyaya.
However, as a half-Indian gal in the States, I know how challenging it can be to find a translation of these ancient texts that makes sense, is easy to read, and resonates. That’s why I created the Svadhyaya Weekly Substack.
